Terms of Service

Last updated: 24 July 2026

These Terms of Service are maintained by GapChase to set out the rules for using the app. They are not independent legal advice. If you have questions, contact us at support@gapchase.com.

Agreement to these terms

By creating an account or using GapChase, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

What GapChase provides

GapChase is a tool that helps businesses and bookkeepers close the gap between bank transactions and the evidence behind them. You upload a bank statement, we read the transactions, search your Gmail for matching invoices or receipts, and file the evidence into folders. We also flag transactions where no evidence is found.

Who can use GapChase

You must be at least 18 years old and use GapChase for legitimate business or bookkeeping purposes. You may only upload statements and connect accounts you have the right to access.

Your account

You sign in with Google. You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:
  • Upload statements or data you do not have permission to process.
  • Use GapChase for illegal, fraudulent or harmful purposes.
  • Attempt to break, scrape or overload the service.
  • Reverse engineer or copy the app beyond what is allowed by law.

Payments and billing

GapChase is currently in early access. Pricing and subscription plans will be published before we launch paid plans. Fees will be charged in the currency and period shown at checkout. You can upgrade, downgrade or cancel at any time. Refunds are given only where required by law. We may change pricing with notice to existing subscribers.

Data and privacy

Your use of GapChase is also governed by our Privacy Policy. You grant GapChase a limited licence to process your statement and Gmail data solely to provide the service. You retain ownership of your original data.

Intellectual property

GapChase owns the app, its code, designs, branding and documentation. You own the data you upload. We do not claim ownership of your bank statements, emails or receipts.

Warranties and disclaimers

GapChase is provided "as is". We do our best to find matches, but we cannot guarantee that every transaction will have a matching receipt or that every match will be perfect. GapChase is not a substitute for professional accounting, tax or legal advice.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, GapChase's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms or if required by law. You can close your account at any time by contacting us. Data deletion is handled in line with our Privacy Policy.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new date. Continued use of GapChase after the changes means you accept the revised terms.
